King Charles Apparently “Feels Absorb And Betrayed” By Meghan Markle’s Recent Interviews

Apparently King Charles Feels Betraye

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry kinda have a lot going on right now between Harry’s memoir Spare dropping in January, and the couples’ docuseries coming out whenever Netflix decides to tell everyone 👀. On top of all that, Meghan’s been busy promoting her critically acclaimed Spotify podcast, Archetypes. The Duchess gave two interviews around the podcast’s release—one with The Cut and one with Variety, both of which were pretty drama-free. But, apparently, King Charles isn’t thrilled.

Royal expert Christopher Andersen told Us Weekly that the royals “pay attention” to Meghan’s interviews, and that he thinks Charles “feels betrayed.” Andersen added that Charles “walked Meghan up the last half of the aisle” at her wedding and “he really was very fond of her” leading to him being “somewhat bewildered.” Just a quick note that Meghan didn’t actually say anything all that dramatic about the royal family in either of her interviews; in her conversation with Variety, she actually spoke very fondly about the Queen, saying, “I continue to be proud to have had a nice warmth with the matriarch of the family.”

But when it comes to Harry and Meghan’s upcoming projects in general, Andersen says that while “the queen was used to handling this kind of” thing, Charles is having a rough time. “I don’t think it threw her as much as it has thrown at Charles,” he explained. “And understandably so, because this is his son and the daughter-in-law who … [have] said some pretty hurtful things.” FYI, no one in the royal family has seen an advanced copy of Prince Harry’s memoir just yet, but apparently everyone is already upset just based on the title, so expect spiraling to commence shortly.
